Samsung Galaxy Buds On open-ear earbuds and Galaxy SmartTag 3 UWB trackers are now available in the US — $229.99 and $29.99 respectively. Neither device has confirmed Indian pricing, certification, or launch timing in any of the sources. The Buds On mark Samsung’s first foray into open-ear audio, abandoning the in-ear seal entirely in favour of a clip-on design that keeps ears unobstructed and ambient sound fully audible.
Samsung says the fit was optimized using over 119 million ear data points and 4D simulations across multiple real ear shapes, a claim echoed by Android Authority. Each bud weighs under 7g and stays stable during movement, with audio leakage cancellation designed to keep music rich and full in your ears while remaining virtually silent to those nearby.
That tech is meant to solve a core trade-off of open-ear designs: privacy versus awareness. Three microphones and a jaw-sensing VPU handle voice pickup, filtering background noise so calls stay clear even in wind or traffic. You can trigger Gemini Live or Bixby hands-free, and use head gestures, nod to answer, shake to reject, without touching the buds.
The SmartTag 3 is 33% lighter than its predecessor and drops the keyring tab form factor for a more compact, rounded shape. It uses Bluetooth 6.0 and ultra-wideband for Compass View tracking, letting you zero in on lost items with directional guidance on compatible Galaxy devices. A built-in speaker rings on command.
Ringtone and volume adjust automatically based on surroundings. Its IP67 rating protects against dust and splashes, like accidental spills or grit under a car seat. Battery life is rated at up to 550 days, or 790 in Power Saving Mode. The programmable button supports single-click, double-click, or long-press actions, from ringing your phone to launching routines or controlling smart home devices.
Samsung confirms the SmartTag 3 works with iPhones but not Android Find Hub. And while it’s live now, SmartThings Tracker support will shut down in October 2027. Both devices launched today, November 6, 2026, on Amazon and Samsung’s official US site, no pre-orders, no phased rollout, no regional exclusives. The Buds On debuted overseas last month.
The SmartTag 3 had no prior regional launch mentioned in the reporting.
