Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 3 launches globally — but not in India until January 2027. That’s confirmed by Daill Kim, Samsung India’s Head of Tablet, Note PC and Wearable, in a LinkedIn post cited by Gizmochina. No exact date within January has been given. The tracker is already on sale in South Korea as of October 7. A US launch follows in November, at $29.99 for one unit or $99.99 for a four-pack. Prices for India have not been announced. It’s the first SmartTag to work with both Android and iOS devices via the SmartThings Find network, a shift from past models that only paired with Galaxy phones. That means an iPhone user can see location history, trigger alerts, and use local search alongside a family member on a Galaxy S26 Ultra. Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding gives up to 60 meters of directional tracking. Triple the range of the SmartTag 2. Once you’re closer, ultra-wideband (UWB) kicks in for centimeter-level precision. If the tag goes out of Bluetooth range, it piggybacks on the Galaxy Find Network: opted-in Samsung devices nearby relay its position anonymously. Physical changes are sharp. The SmartTag 3 is 35% smaller in volume and 33% lighter than its predecessor. It swaps the angular shell for a rounded aluminum-button design and carries an IP67 rating. Colors are black and white. Silicone and Loop cases sell separately. The NFC chip lets anyone who finds a lost tag tap it with any smartphone to see your registered contact info. The button doubles as a SmartThings remote, turning lights on or off, for example. Alerts include Place Notifications (enter/leave home), movement detection, and Left Behind warnings when your phone disconnects. Samsung hasn’t said whether the SmartTag 3 will ship with replaceable batteries or go fully sealed. Nor has it confirmed if the four-pack includes cases or accessories. Those details remain unannounced. The SmartTag 2 remains available in India. And still gets software updates, but no longer receives new feature drops. With the SmartTag 3 delayed until next year, Indian buyers wanting cross-platform tracking or UWB precision will wait. Or import. Pre-orders open in the US this November. In India, expect retail listings. And pricing, only in early January 2027.
