A refurbished pair of Sony WH-1000XM6 wireless noise canceling headphones was listed at $215.99 on eBay when IGN reported the listing on October 9, 2026. That price cut 54 percent off the standard $460 US retail figure for a brand-new unit, offering a sharp markdown on Sony's premier over-ear cans.
The reduction came through seller Secondipity as part of an eBay sale event, requiring buyers to apply the coupon code COUNTDOWN20 during checkout. Free shipping was included with the transaction. Secondipity operates as a large-scale liquidator for Sony hardware, and buyer feedback cited by IGN indicated units arriving from the outlet looked practically identical to factory-fresh gear. EBay also paired the purchase with an AllState two-year extended warranty, offering protection against mechanical defects that might otherwise make shoppers hesitate on refurbished audio equipment.
Sony introduced the WH-1000XM6 in 2025 as the successor to the WH-1000XM5 released back in 2022. Several physical refinements tackled long-standing complaints about portability and ergonomics. Most visible was the return of hinged earcups that fold inwards, allowing the headset to collapse down into a much smaller carrying case. That folding structure remedied a common gripe with the XM5, whose rigid frame occupied considerably more room in travel bags. The revised hinge design also altered ear cup pressure to improve comfort during extended listening sessions.
