Artcraft is a new open-source suite of Adobe alternatives — Lightcraft (a Lightroom replacement), Photocraft (a Photoshop replacement), and an early Premiere Pro equivalent, built in Rust and available as native packages for macOS, Windows, and Linux. A browser version also exists for some apps. According to XDA Developers’ hands-on report, the suite aims for 1:1 feature parity with Adobe’s tools, including non-destructive editing, collection-based library browsing, and identical keyboard shortcuts. So users can switch without relearning workflows. That fidelity helped the reporter jump straight into Lightcraft and continue editing exactly as they did in Lightroom Classic. But it’s not perfect yet. Camera RAW compatibility lags: while DNG files from a Sony A7iii loaded cleanly, images from an older Panasonic camera rendered differently. Color interpretation diverges sharply from Adobe’s pipeline, meaning presets built for Lightroom won’t transfer cleanly and need manual tweaking. AI masking uses Meta’s on-device SAM 3 model instead of Adobe’s cloud servers, enabling text-guided bounding boxes and local segmentation. The Premiere Pro alternative is the least mature: XDA reported laggy timelines, broken audio, and instability with LOG footage. MCP support. The protocol letting Claude AI send commands directly to the apps, is baked across the suite, but only Lightcraft and Photocraft currently deliver reliable results. XDA notes the project is still under active development, with full feature parity expected “over the next month or two”. Though the reporter suspects that timeline may slip. Artcraft is unaffiliated with Adobe or Anthropic. No official download site, installer link, or GitHub URL appears in the reporting. And there is zero mention of Android, iOS, or mobile versions: this is desktop-only. So despite search traffic for 'Claude download', no Claude app is being distributed here, only Claude-controlled editors.
