Dell Technologies has brought its latest enterprise field hardware to India, putting the Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme and Dell Pro Rugged 14 on sale for commercial and government buyers.
The two Windows machines target crews working far away from standard office desks. Dell built them for emergency response units, manufacturing floors, utilities, transport teams, and oil and gas rigs. Both run on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, pairing updated neural processing power with chassis engineered to survive foul weather and rough handling.
Pricing reflects that specialised build quality. The Dell Pro Rugged 14 starts at Rs 2,65,990 including taxes. The smaller, fully armoured Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme begins at Rs 3,36,990 including taxes. Both models are available immediately through Dell's enterprise channels in India.
Built for the Field
The Pro Rugged 13 Extreme is the tougher of the pair. Dell rates it IP66 against dust and pressurized water ingress, and the chassis has survived six-foot drop tests onto solid surfaces. Its 13.3-inch FHD screen tops out at 1,400 nits to remain readable under harsh midday sun. That panel also registers touch inputs from thick work gloves and continues tracking taps in wet conditions.
Inside, the 13 Extreme relies on integrated Intel Arc graphics, up to 64GB of soldered LPDDR5X memory, and removable solid-state drives with self-encrypting options for secure field data handling.
The Pro Rugged 14 offers a lighter, semi-rugged alternative. It weighs approximately 2.13kg, carries an IP53 rating, and handles drops from up to three feet. Its 14-inch 16:10 FHD display hits 1,100 nits. Unlike the smaller model, the Rugged 14 accepts modular LPCAMM2 memory up to 64GB, allowing IT departments to swap modules down the road. It can also be fitted with an Nvidia RTX Pro 500 Blackwell Generation laptop GPU for heavy data processing and visual modelling.
Vehicle installations get an overhaul on the Rugged 14 as well. Dell revamped the docking interface with quad passthrough and broad compatibility for third-party mounts, simplifying the latching process for utility trucks and patrol cars.
Both laptops hold MIL-STD-810H certifications and run in temperatures between -20°F and 145°F. Connectivity options include optional private 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and dedicated GPS. Enterprise security covers TPM 2.0, Windows Hello facial recognition through an optional 5MP RGB+IR camera, smart card readers, and fingerprint scanners. Dell bundles its Rugged Control Center suite, fleet management tools, and ProSupport maintenance alongside the hardware.
