The PC edition of Grand Theft Auto VI might land far faster than computer players expected. Rockstar Games could roll out a dedicated PC version in the first quarter of 2027, according to reporting from GamesBeat.
Citing sources familiar with the matter, the outlet reported that parent company Take-Two Interactive is looking at a release window between January and March 2027. If accurate, desktop players would wait only a matter of months rather than years. That marks a sharp shift from Grand Theft Auto V, where PC enthusiasts had to wait more than a year and a half after the console debut before they could play.
Rockstar locked in November 19 for the console rollout on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. The studio has kept officially silent on desktop availability. But financial considerations appear to be driving the push. Production spending on Grand Theft Auto VI reportedly spans more than $2 billion, making it one of the most expensive entertainment projects ever assembled. With consoles accounting for a comparatively smaller share of the worldwide audience compared to PC players, a rapid computer release gives the publisher an urgent vehicle to monetise the game and recoup that massive outlay.
