Apple’s iPad Mini 8 will launch later this month with an OLED display — the first in the Mini line, and a $799 US starting price, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman via Notebookcheck. That’s $200 more than the iPad Mini 7’s $599 launch price in 2024. No Indian price is reported yet. The jump isn’t just about the screen: memory costs are soaring globally, and Apple has raised prices across much of its lineup over the past year. Still, the Mini 8 will be the cheapest device confirmed to use the A20 Pro chip. The same one powering the iPhone 18 Pro models launching October 16. It’ll also reportedly get a reworked speaker system and a relocated front-facing camera. No official name or model number is confirmed. “iPad Mini 8” is a placeholder used by analysts and media. Apple hasn’t announced anything. The event is expected before October 31.
