Apple has said nothing official yet, but the rumor mill is already filling in the iPhone Air 2's spec sheet. Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has shared a fresh batch of expected details, adding to a run of leaks that have followed the phone for months.
According to the tipster, the Air 2 will carry a 6.55-inch flat OLED display with a standard aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K+ resolution. That would put the screen in roughly the same size class as the original iPhone Air, with no word yet on whether Apple keeps the same bezel-light look.
The bigger claim is on power. Digital Chat Station says the Air 2 will use the same 2nm A20-series chipset that debuted in the iPhone 18 Pro series and the iPhone Duo. Pairing a flagship-grade chip with a thin-and-light phone would be consistent with how Apple has positioned the Air line so far, as a device that trades a little bulk for a lot of chip.
Cameras get an upgrade too, at least on paper. The leak points to a dual rear camera system, a 48MP wide sensor alongside a 48MP ultrawide, a jump from the single-camera setup Apple used on the first Air. Battery life has been a recurring complaint about ultra-thin phones, and Apple appears to be addressing it here. The tipster says the Air 2 gets a larger battery than its predecessor, echoing an earlier rumor that pegged capacity at around 3,500mAh or higher. None of these battery or camera figures are confirmed by Apple, so treat them as leak-stage estimates rather than settled specs.
Other details floating around, cited separately from Digital Chat Station's post, suggest the phone stays thin at roughly 5.2mm, and that it moves to Apple's newer N2 wireless chipset alongside a C2 modem, Apple's in-house cellular chip. The shape and design language is expected to carry over from the original iPhone Air rather than change dramatically.
Taken together, the picture forming is a second-generation Air that keeps the thin-phone pitch but fixes the two things reviewers flagged most about the first one: a single camera and a battery that didn't quite match the rest of the lineup. Whether 3,500mAh or more is enough to put those complaints to rest is something no leak can answer.
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone Air 2 alongside the iPhone 18 and a new budget iPhone 18e next spring, based on the timeline these leaks have pointed to so far. Until Apple sends out invites, every number here, the screen size, the chip, the camera resolution and the battery capacity, remains a rumor, and rumors about Apple phones have a habit of shifting right up until launch day.
