Apple’s first OLED MacBook Pro arrives Friday — and it’s also the first MacBook with a touchscreen. The 14- and 16-inch models launch globally with PROLED XDR displays, M5 Pro or M5 Max chips, and touch support baked into macOS Sequoia 15.3. No pricing or availability details beyond ‘Friday’ are confirmed in the reporting, but Apple’s India site lists the 14-inch M5 Pro variant at ₹2.49 lakh, matching the earlier MacBook Pro with touch screen report filed under the same date.
That price is for the base configuration. Higher-tier M5 Max models will cost more. In the US, no official price has been disclosed, only that sales begin Friday. The device replaces the current M3-based MacBook Pro line, not the M2 Air, which remains on sale alongside it.
So yes: this is the MacBook Pro vs MacBook Air comparison people have been waiting for, but now with OLED, touch, and a chip generation jump. The iPad Mini OLED also launches Friday: 8.5-inch panel, A20 Pro chip, IP67 rating. Motorola follows Thursday with the Signature 27, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, 200 MP periscope telephoto, 7,000 mAh battery.
