Apple has added a festive twist to its earbud lineup in India, introducing a special Diwali edition of the AirPods 5 featuring laser engraving inspired by traditional rangoli artwork.
The customized case wraps intricate decorative patterns around a heart-eyes emoji. Buyers will not pay a festival surcharge for the look. Apple set the AirPods 5 price for this version at Rs 17,900, matching the exact sticker price of the standard AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case in India.
Sales started on October 11 and will run through November 11, 2026, though Apple warned that availability depends entirely on current stock. Shoppers can order through Apple's online storefront and official app, or pick them up across the company's six physical retail stores in India.
Terms and warranty details
There are clear restrictions if you plan on stocking up. Apple has capped orders at two units per customer. It also carved the holiday hardware out of employee and corporate discount channels, excluding it from Education, Business, and Corporate Employee Purchase Plan pricing, as well as broader trade promotions.
There is also a catch if you run into hardware trouble down the road. Apple's purchase documentation explicitly states that replacement units or repair swaps could revert to the standard AirPods 5 wireless charging case if inventory of the festival run dries up.
Alongside the hardware drop, Apple is hosting free hands-on creative sessions tied to the festival. Built in partnership with artist Arushi Kathuria, the rangoli workshops put participants on an iPad with an Apple Pencil. Attendees will work in Procreate using a custom brush tuned to mimic the grainy texture of traditional dry colored powder.
Those in-store workshops run from October 14 through November 9. While the custom hardware remains exclusive to Indian shoppers, the creative sessions extend beyond domestic stores, appearing at select retail locations across the United States, Canada, Malaysia, and Singapore.
