IPhone 18, iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 are all slated for launch in March or April 2027 — not this year, and not with the Pro models that dropped in September. Apple’s next standard-tier lineup arrives months later than usual, filling a gap left by the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo, which shipped without a base model in 2026.
The delay isn’t speculation: it’s baked into the leak from DCS cited by Gizmochina, and it reshapes the 2027 launch calendar entirely. No official date has been confirmed, but the window is narrow and specific: Q2, most likely March or April. Not ‘early 2027’. Not ‘first half’.
March or April. That’s when pre-orders open, and when carriers and retailers will start taking deposits. It’s also when Indian importers begin lining up customs paperwork, because no pricing has been announced yet, anywhere. Not in dollars.
Not in rupees. Not even as a rumour with currency attached. Just silence where price should be. Which makes the $699–$1,099 range for today’s lineup the only real anchor: the iPhone 17e starts at $699, the iPhone 17 at $899, the iPhone Air at $1,099.
And Apple raised all three by $100 in September. So yes, a hike is plausible. But ‘tipped’, not promised. Not priced.
Not confirmed. Not even leaked with numbers. Just a strong likelihood, backed by precedent. The iPhone 18 itself is expected to pack a 6.3-inch 1.5K OLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, Dynamic Island, Face ID and a dual 48MP rear camera system.
Its chip? The 2nm A20. Same process node as the A20 Pro inside the iPhone Air 2, but without the ‘Pro’ suffix, and without the N2 wireless chip or C2 modem reportedly going into the Air 2. The iPhone 18e keeps the smaller 6.12-inch OLED screen, but drops to 60Hz and sticks with a single 48MP rear shooter.
Its front camera jumps to 24MP, an upgrade over the current 12MP unit, and it may also get the A20, though that’s unconfirmed. The iPhone Air 2 stands apart: 6.55-inch 1.5K OLED, 120Hz, dual 48MP rear cameras, slimmer 5.2mm profile, larger battery, A20 Pro, N2, C2. It’s the only one here with a clear architectural step up, not just more megapixels, but new silicon layers and connectivity stacks.
None of these models have been certified, photographed in the wild or spotted in carrier listings. This is a DCS leak, credible enough to move markets, thin enough to evaporate if Apple pivots. What is certain is the timing. March or April 2027.
Not later. Not sooner. And not alongside anything else. This is Apple’s standalone standard-tier drop.
The next thing that happens? A press invite lands, probably in late February, and then the clock starts ticking toward pre-orders.
