Google has launched the Pixel 11 Pro Fold at $1,899 in the US — matching the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8’s price and landing just $100 under the iPhone Duo. It arrives as the foldable market fractures: Apple’s passport-sized Duo dominates headlines, while Chinese brands push wide-format rivals with near-creaseless displays.
Google, by contrast, doubled down on its tall, rectangular foldable design, refining last year’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold rather than reinventing it. The changes are incremental but measurable: 19 grams lighter, 5mm thick unfolded (down from 5.2mm), and a 3,600-nit outer display (up from 3,000-nit). A new glass-ceramic front cover and glass-fiber composite back claim three times the durability of its predecessor, though the hinge remains stiff enough to require two hands to unfold.
That rigidity is intentional, per Google. So is the visible crease: still prominent in bright light, still unaddressed where rivals like Oppo and Honor have made headway. The camera system upgrades, a revised 48-megapixel main sensor, 30x Super Res Zoom (up from 20x), and software features like Magic Capture and Looks, don’t close the gap with the Pixel 11 Pro XL’s triple-lens setup.
