Windows 11’s Xbox Mode just got a navigation bar — and it’s live in preview builds for 25H2 and 26H2. Microsoft confirmed the change Friday in its Windows Insider update, rolling it out to Beta (Build 26220.9739), Experimental (26340.9750), and Release Preview users on 25H2 (26200.9807) and 26H2 (26300.9807). The bar sits at the bottom of the screen during gameplay and adds one-click access to Exit to Desktop and Power Options.

That replaces Win + F11, a keyboard-only shortcut that didn’t work for players using only the Nano Controller or other non-keyboard setups. Swipe-up Task View remains for touch devices, but now there’s a consistent fallback for everyone else. No mention yet of Quick Resume or performance sliders joining the bar.

This isn’t a full UI overhaul, just a targeted fix for a real friction point: getting out of Xbox Mode without breaking immersion. It ships with no fanfare, no new branding, and no price tag. Just a bar. And it’s already in your build if you’re on the right channel.
