Apple Watch Series 12 Price, Specs, Release Date and Deals: Everything We Know

Reviewers also noted what one report called "a faint but noticeable edge where the screen meets the bezel" that they said they had not seen before on an Apple Watch (3).

Apple Watch Series 12 release date and availability

The Series 12 is available globally as of early October 2026, following its unveiling at Apple's September event (3). It launched alongside the Apple Watch Ultra 4, with the SE 3 remaining the lower-cost option in Apple's current watch lineup (13).

Apple Watch Series 12 deals

The Series 12 saw its first real discounts during Amazon's fall Prime Big Deal Days, which ran from October 6 to October 7, 2026 (13). 9to5Toys reported a drop to $350 for select base aluminium configurations at 07:13 UTC on October 6, calling it an all-time low (2). A ceramic variant of the Series 12 also saw its first discounts during this event, marking Apple's first ceramic Apple Watch discount since the Series 5 in 2019 (4). MacRumors reported the 42mm GPS model at $349.99 and the 46mm GPS model at $399.99 on October 7, a $49 reduction spanning two color finishes and select cellular configurations (9). By October 9, several configurations of the Series 12, including 46mm cellular variants and Dark Bronze styles, remained listed at their Prime Day record-low prices even after the sale window closed, according to 9to5Toys (18). A separate 9to5Toys roundup published the same day also described the pricing as an all-time low (19). Buyers should note that stock and specific configurations in these deals were not always confirmed across outlets, and discounts of this kind are typically temporary.

Apple Watch Series 12 reviews and first impressions

Macworld's review, published October 6, confirmed the Series 12 ships with upgraded health sensors, a new AI-powered audio app, the S11 chip, and improved fast charging, while matching its predecessor's launch price (3). iFixit's teardown, published October 7, gave the Series 12 a 4 out of 10 on its repairability scale, a one-point improvement over the Series 11's score of 3 out of 10 (5, 12). The gain was attributed to Apple switching to stretch-release pull tabs under the battery, removing the need to pry cells away from glue, though iFixit also found an overhauled, simplified screen-to-logic-board connector that created new repair difficulties (12). iFixit's broader verdict was described as "better batteries, same stubborn screens," with glued screens still making the watch hard to open (5).

Apple Watch Series 12 vs rivals

During Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days, the Series 12 was discounted alongside the previous-generation Apple Watch Ultra 3, which dropped to $599.97 with an Ocean Band bundle as retailers cleared inventory following the Ultra 4 launch (8). Macworld noted that the older Series 11 and Ultra 3 saw even steeper reductions than the Series 12 during the same sale, suggesting those older models could represent better value if the discount is large enough (13). The Apple Watch SE 3 also saw markdowns during the same event, with the 40mm GPS model listed at $199 and the 44mm GPS model at $229, positioning it as Apple's lower-cost wearable option compared with the Series 12 (9, 13).
