RTX Spark is Nvidia's first system-on-chip platform for Windows PCs, pairing an Arm-based Grace CPU with Blackwell graphics and unified memory in one package (17, 19). The first devices, including Microsoft's Surface Laptop Ultra and Asus's ProArt P16, began shipping October 16, 2026, with prices starting around $2,599 (8, 21, 26).
RTX Spark price
Pricing has varied by report and retailer. Early coverage put the Surface Laptop Ultra's base configuration at $2,599.99 in the US (14), later reported as $2,499 for the same model at launch (20), and later still as shipping at $2,599 (26). The Verge's review listed the Surface Laptop Ultra from $2,599 to $5,899 for the top 128GB configuration (21). The Asus ProArt P16 has been reported at several figures across its rollout: $2,599.99 at announcement (1), $2,700 at a US launch event according to PC Gamer (16), $2,299 ahead of its November 5 release (20), and $7,000 for the 128GB configuration at global launch (27). Dell's XPS 16 Creator Edition opened for pre-order at $3,799.99 (5, 10). HP's OmniBook Ultra 16 starts at $3,199.99 in the US, with a tested configuration at $4,999.99, and ₹4,29,999 in India (24). MSI's Prestige N16 Flip AI+ starts at $3,299 in the US and ₹3,19,999 in India (12). Asus's ProArt GR1X mini-PC is priced at $1,299 in the US and ₹1,09,990 in India (7). In India, the Surface Laptop Ultra has been listed variously at Rs 2,59,999 (6), ₹2,19,999 (20), and ₹3.29 lakh at shipping (26), while HP's OmniBook Ultra was listed at ₹2,49,999 as the first confirmed RTX Spark model for sale in India (23).
RTX Spark specs
The platform uses Nvidia's N1X chip, built on TSMC's 3nm node, combining up to 20 Arm CPU cores (10 Cortex-X925 plus 10 Cortex-A725) with a Blackwell GPU offering up to 6,144 CUDA cores, connected via a 600GB/s NVLink-C2C interconnect (16, 17, 20). A lower-tier variant uses 18 CPU cores and 5,120 GPU cores (20). Unified LPDDR5X memory scales up to 128GB, shared between CPU and GPU, running at 9,400 Mbps (14, 20). TDP ranges from 45W to 80W in laptops, enabling chassis as thin as 0.55 inch and as light as 3 pounds (19), while Nvidia says battery operation retains 99% of plugged-in performance (19).
| Spec | Detail |
|---|
| CPU | Up to 20-core Arm (Grace), 10 Cortex-X925 + 10 Cortex-A725 (16) |
| GPU | Blackwell, up to 6,144 CUDA cores (16, 20) |
| Memory | Up to 128GB unified LPDDR5X-9400 (14, 20) |
| Interconnect | NVLink-C2C at 600GB/s (17) |
| Process | TSMC 3nm (17, 19) |
| TDP | 45W-80W (laptop) (19); 140W (ProArt GR1X desktop) (7, 15) |
The Asus ProArt GR1X mini-PC pairs the same N1X chip with 64GB or 128GB LPDDR5X memory, weighs 1.48kg, measures 150 x 150 x 51mm, and draws power through a 240W USB-C adapter (15). It targets 1440p gaming at roughly 100FPS while drawing just 140W (7). The Asus ProArt P16 weighs 1.78kg, lighter than the MacBook Pro 16 by more than 300 grams, and includes a 4K tandem OLED screen with battery life reported under 10 hours (27).
RTX Spark release date and availability
Pre-orders opened October 7, 2026, for the Surface Laptop Ultra and Asus ProArt P16, with shipments beginning October 16 (1, 2). Dell's XPS 16 Creator Edition went up for pre-order October 9-10, also shipping October 16 (5, 10). Retail launch in the US spread across seven machines from Microsoft, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo and MSI (25). The Surface Laptop Ultra launched at a single Best Buy in San Francisco, where over 100 people queued but only a handful bought one (23). The Asus ProArt GR1X mini-PC began pre-orders globally on October 9, with shipments expected around October 28 (7). Asus's ProArt P16 has also been reported with a November 5 release date in one account (20). The Mechrevo Master Road X10 mini-PC, pairing RTX Spark with additional storage for large local models, had not been confirmed for pricing or availability as of its report (13).
RTX Spark deals
Best Buy's Techtober Sale offered discounts on Copilot+ PCs using RTX Spark hardware, with entry-level configurations starting at $179 and savings up to $770, as reported October 10 (11).
RTX Spark reviews and first impressions
The Verge's review of the Surface Laptop Ultra found an "AI future that hasn't arrived," noting users are prompted to pick an AI agent at first boot (21). A separate Verge hands-on across five RTX Spark laptops over a week described the platform as capable but expensive, with strong Windows-on-Arm compatibility but inconsistent gaming performance at prices up to $6,999.99 (22). Gizbot's early review highlighted the chip's ability to run agentic workflows and edit video locally using up to 128GB of unified memory (17). Notebookcheck's comparison of the redesigned ProArt P16 found tradeoffs: unthrottled battery performance and faster CPU speeds, but graphics power falling behind the prior generation's RTX 5090 (29). XDA Developers tested nine anti-cheat systems on an RTX Spark device and found five working, including Counter-Strike 2 and Roblox, with the rest promised for 2027 (30).
RTX Spark vs rivals
Reviewers have positioned RTX Spark machines against Apple's MacBook Pro lineup rather than gaming rivals, given their creator and developer focus (25). The redesigned Asus ProArt P16 is lighter than the MacBook Pro 16 by more than 300 grams (27). Compared to its own 2025 predecessor, which used an AMD processor with dedicated graphics up to the GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5090, the RTX Spark version trades peak graphics power for sustained unplugged performance (29). Nvidia frames the Blackwell GPU inside the chip as roughly on par with a mobile RTX 5060 (21).
